Junior 3D Visualiser

Fulcrum

Date: 2 days ago
City: Sydney, New South Wales
Contract type: Full time

Some spaces just stay with you. That’s the kind of work you’ll help bring to life.

We’re working with an interior design studio that doesn't chase trends — they translate vision into atmosphere. Restaurants, bars, and retail spaces with a real presence. Work that’s immersive, challenging, and at times beautifully unexpected.

Their projects don’t follow a style guide. Each one is a direct response to the brief — often bold, sometimes restrained, always thoughtful. And the 3D team is right in the middle of it all. This isn’t a studio where renders get farmed out. You’ll be part of the process from day one — shaping the visual language, interpreting design intent, and helping to tell the story.

What you’ll be doing

You won’t be hidden in the back, churning out renders. You’ll be in the room — working closely with designers, contributing to conversations, and helping shape how projects are presented to clients. Some days you’ll be deep in SketchUp, finessing the lighting or mood of a space. Other days you’ll be turning early ideas into something the team can critique, refine, and rally behind. It’s fast. It’s collaborative. And every project is different.

  • Create 3D visuals that help communicate concept and intent
  • Translate plans, sketches and material ideas into confident, considered renderings
  • Support internal design development and external presentation work
  • Move between hospitality, retail and commercial projects — often at pace
  • Learn how to balance fidelity, storytelling and speed in a live studio environment

What excites you

  • You’re not just here to press render — you care about light, material, and emotion
  • You’ve got solid SketchUp skills and a working grasp of V-Ray or Enscape
  • You’re hungry to learn — and want to understand the why, not just the how
  • You’re energised by feedback, and thrive in a studio that’s fast but focused
  • You want your work to shape how spaces are seen — before they’re ever built

What’s in it for you

  • A chance to work on the kind of projects people remember
  • Mentorship from designers who value your eye and ideas — not just your software skills
  • A collaborative, no-nonsense studio that backs talent and moves quickly
  • Real project exposure, not just internal visuals or generic marketing work

This role is for you if...

  • You want to learn by doing — not just observing
  • You care about how a space feels, not just how it looks
  • You’re excited to be part of a team that moves fast and thinks sharp

This role probably isn’t for you if...

  • You’re looking for remote work or a hands-off environment
  • You prefer briefs that are already fully resolved
  • You’re more interested in polishing the toolset than contributing to the story

What success looks like

In your first 3 months

  • You’re learning the ropes — getting familiar with the team, the tools, the process
  • You’ve contributed to a few pitch decks or live projects, and your work is starting to show up in presentations
  • You’re building confidence with internal feedback and starting to understand what “good” looks like in this studio

By 6 months

  • You’re working independently on visuals for active projects — from concept development through to client presentation
  • You’ve found your rhythm across multiple projects, balancing pace and polish
  • The team trusts your instincts, and you’re starting to contribute ideas — not just output

After 12 months

  • You’re a key part of the visualisation process — regularly shaping how designs are communicated
  • You’re mentoring newer grads or interns, helping them find their feet
  • You’ve built a strong body of work — with real projects you’re proud to show off

Not sure if you tick every box?

Research shows that people from underrepresented backgrounds often hold back unless they meet 100% of the criteria. If this sounds like something you’d love to do — even if you’re still building experience — we’d still love to hear from you.
