Ampersand have partnered with an impressive professional services firm in Sydney that’s experiencing a period of exciting expansion and looking to appoint an experienced Head of Human Resources.
In this generalist HR role, you’ll be at the forefront of day-to-day operations, fully immersed in all HR activities, from recruitment to employee relations and everything in between. You will also be the leader of a small but highly motivated HR team, where you will have the opportunity to mentor, develop, and guide them to success.
This is a rare opportunity to work closely with a high-energy leader who will back you, support you an empower you to take charge. You’ll provide counsel to some demanding stakeholders, where your leadership and people skills will be key to success. You will need to be hands-on and ready to roll up your sleeves, but you’ll also play a pivotal strategic role in shaping HR processes, enhancing employee experience, and driving the firm’s growth forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the HR function, overseeing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, and employee engagement.
- Mentor and develop a small but high-performing HR team, providing guidance and support to ensure they deliver excellence.
- Manage and execute HR processes on a day-to-day basis, while keeping an eye on long-term strategic HR goals.
- Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing insights and solutions that align with business objectives.
- Champion a culture of growth, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the firm.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR matters within the partnership, ensuring smooth and effective communication.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally from within an accounting, engineering or legal firm.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire a team.
- Ability to balance the hands-on, operational aspects of HR with a strategic mindset.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate and manage relationships with a demanding partnership.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with the confidence to shape and implement HR initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the business.
- Comfortable being in the office at least four days per week, to be fully embedded in the team and culture.
In the interest of transparency, the remuneration on offer for this position in $200,000 - $220,000 inc super.
