What we need from you / What our client requires
· 5-6 years of experience in Linux database administration (on-premises and cloud - AWS RDS/Linux Cloud)
· Strong expertise in database security, performance tuning, and optimization
· Proficient in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting)
· Holds NV1 Security Clearance

Key Responsibilities:
Service Establishment & Transition
· Assist with implementing and reviewing existing Linux database environments
· Participate in workshops to understand and transition Linux platforms
· Contribute to operations documentation (e.g., SOPs, system docs)
· Support go-live readiness aligned with service plans
Ongoing Database Administration
· Perform daily DBA tasks: monitoring, backups, tuning, capacity, patching
· Troubleshoot and resolve incidents with minimal downtime
· Manage and prioritize service tickets and requests
· Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation and procedures
· Align operations with DevOps and Agile methodologies and drive automation of routine DBA tasks
· Collaborate across infrastructure teams (compute, storage, network, cloud)
· Ensure compliance with federal security standards
· Support cloud migration initiatives and provide input on current platforms
· (Optional) Knowledge of MSSQL is a plus
· Mentor and manage junior DBAs, including training and scheduling
Qualification Required:
· 5-6 years managing large-scale on-prem and cloud (AWS RDS/Linux Cloud) environments.
· Skilled in high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and DB security.
· Strong troubleshooting, scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell), and automation skills
· Familiar with ITSM/ITIL (ITIL v4 certification preferred or to be obtained within 8 weeks)
· Clear communicator, team player, and quality-focused professional
· Ideal for a seasoned DBA ready to grow in a structured service delivery role
