Launch are seeing an experienced Linux Administrator with current NV1 clearance to join a leading consultancy on a permanent basis.
This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing cloud and infrastructure solutions for a variety of enterprise clients, ensuring optimal system performance, availability, and security.
You’ll be responsible for managing modern Azure cloud environments, Linux-based systems, and VMware infrastructure, as well as contributing to automation, monitoring, and incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud & Infrastructure:
This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing cloud and infrastructure solutions for a variety of enterprise clients, ensuring optimal system performance, availability, and security.
You’ll be responsible for managing modern Azure cloud environments, Linux-based systems, and VMware infrastructure, as well as contributing to automation, monitoring, and incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud & Infrastructure:
- Design and deploy scalable, secure Azure cloud architectures.
- Manage Azure PaaS services such as App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure SQL
- Monitor and optimize Azure resources for cost and performance
- Implement Azure security best practices: access controls, encryption, Azure Policy
- Use Terraform and ARM templates to develop and maintain infrastructure as code
- Manage deployments through CI/CD pipelines and source control
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Manage user access and enforce security policies
- Tune systems for optimal performance and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Analyse logs, monitor applications, and resolve issues promptly
- Administer virtual machines and storage within VMware environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization and infrastructure issues
- Respond to incidents and service requests in a timely manner
- Document issues and resolutions for knowledge sharing
- Work closely with team members to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Automate routine tasks with Bash or Python scripting
- Participate in after-hours support and deployments as needed (on-call duties apply)
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory due to security clearance requirements – must hold current NV1 clearance
- Proven experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and services
- Strong background in Linux system administration
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization platforms
- Infrastructure as code expertise (Terraform, ARM)
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) to streamline operations
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts and on-call support when required
