The Opportunity
The Analyst, Marketing and Sector Capability, assists with the development and implementation of Save on Energy marketing and communications strategies, plans and tactics to increase awareness of and engagement in Save on Energy programs across all sectors, including content creation for both traditional and digital media, such as newsletters and social posts. The analyst also assists with developing the capacity of Ontario’s energy sector to participate in energy-efficiency activities and Save on Energy programs through training and other knowledge-building resources such as webinars and information guides.

The IESO offers a hybrid work model program to most of our employees, based on business needs. The Opportunity
The Analyst, Marketing and Sector Capability, assists with the development and implementation of Save on Energy marketing and communications strategies, plans and tactics to increase awareness of and engagement in Save on Energy programs across all sectors, including content creation for both traditional and digital media, such as newsletters and social posts. The analyst also assists with developing the capacity of Ontario’s energy sector to participate in energy-efficiency activities and Save on Energy programs through training and other knowledge-building resources such as webinars and information guides.
What You'll Be Doing

- Influence the culture of conservation internally and externally
- Demonstrate by example the values of the IESO and the culture of the Demand Side Management Group
- Leverage experience with retail, consumer, social behavior changes and B2B marketing experience to develop and communicate value propositions for participating in Save on Energy programs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and communications plans for programs, including content creation such as newsletters and social media.
- Support advisors and supervisor in identifying requirements and contributing to the maintenance and ongoing optimization of the Save on Energy website with content, graphics and functionality as required.
- Collaborate with business units to identify and refine key customer segments/channels and relevant messaging / positioning, evaluate market results and reactions to communication/advertising programs by communication channel, to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing communication and/or capability building strategies and plans within designated budgets.
- Assist in development of sector capability plans and initiatives, including liaising with staff internal to the IESO to assess their capability building needs in the energy-efficiency marketplace, and analyzing and prioritizing professional training/education needs and capability gaps.
- Research and analyze relevant industry benchmarks and metrics to support effective marketing and capability building in the energy-efficiency marketplace.
- Coordinate with marketing vendor, capability building vendor and/or business unit to ensure the effective delivery of marketing and capability building initiatives.
- Support marketing campaigns and assist advisors and supervisor with content creation and review for both traditional and digital media (print, email, website, social, etc.) for all Save on Energy programs. Manage projects and processes to improve customer and channel acceptance of province-wide programs
- Support targeted outreach to customer segments and collaborate with program teams in developing and reporting results and marketing analytics.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy for delivering marketing strategics, plans and tactics.
- Coordinate the effective delivery of capability building initiatives as appropriate.
What You Need to Succeed
- Solid background and grounding in supporting the creation and implementation of marketing strategies, plans and tactics. Broad background in the energy-efficiency marketplace would be an asset.
- 4 years experience in marketing and/or training in the energy-efficiency marketplace.
- Solid background and grounding in capability training, training needs analysis and delivery.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written and presentation) at all levels within the organization
- Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent conceptual and “forward thinking” skills
