Greyhound Racing SA

With revenue approaching $40m and over 100 dedicated staff, Greyhound Racing SA Limited (GRSA) is the controlling body of greyhound racing in South Australia, conducting, regulating, and promoting the sport from its headquarters at Angle Park. GRSA’s primary responsibilities are to ensure the welfare of the industry’s greyhounds and the responsible and ethical regulation of approximately 700 licenced industry participants and race meeting activities at its five racetracks – Angle Park, Gawler, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier and Virginia – through the effective enforcement of local and national rules and compliance policies.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, working closely with the Board and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the General Manager Finance provides sound, precise and relevant guidance and advice on the organisation’s corporate, commercial and financial governance. Key responsibilities of this pivotal role include:

  • providing high quality financial reporting and information to the Board and ELT including financial strategy, management accounting and business insights;
  • ensuring responsible management of company cash, insurance, budgets, assets and technology/ICT systems;
  • providing oversight of financial contributions to the GRSA Risk Management System and Policy Framework while leading and motivating employees through financial coaching and support;
  • strengthening internal controls, conducting thorough internal and external audits, and implementing targeted measures to effectively support fraud prevention while ensuring financial compliance requirements are met;
  • contributing to the strategic direction and achievement of organisational goals as the key internal financial advisor to the CEO and Board.

Applications are encouraged from contemporary senior finance professionals with ideally CA/CPA status and relevant experience leading or contributing to high functioning finance teams. Expertise in financial compliance oversight and strong problem-solving capabilities will be needed to accommodate the regulatory, strategic and operational complexities within the industry.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic, adaptable and innovative with developed interpersonal skills to support the development of strong relationships across the full spectrum of internal and external industry stakeholders. Finance experience in a racing/sporting and/or a comparably regulated environment will be well regarded but is not essential.

Enquire without delay to join a dynamic team committed to ensuring the sustainability, integrity and success of greyhound racing in South Australia.
