Are you passionate about agriculture and education? Do you have experience in stock or farm management and want to inspire future farmers? We are looking for an engaging and knowledgeable Tutor to deliver our brand-new Agriculture qualifications across New Zealand.

Job Description

About the role

As an Agriculture Tutor, you will deliver high-quality teaching and support to the next generation of farmers. This is a fully remote role that is 20 hours per week, allowing you to be based anywhere in New Zealand while providing engaging online learning experiences.

Your responsibilities include course delivery, lesson planning, student support, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong farming knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging, structured courses aligned with lesson plans.
  • Conduct assessments, provide feedback, and track student progress.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and performance.
  • Support students in developing work habits and employability skills.
  • Motivate students remotely, ensuring engagement and progress.

Please note that this role can be done remotely anywhere in New Zealand.

Desired Skills And Experience

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is:

  • Experienced in agriculture: Holds a relevant qualification and/or has at least five years of experience in stock or farm management.
  • A great communicator: Able to engage, relate to, and inspire students in an online environment.
  • Organised and detail-oriented: Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Passionate about education: Enjoys mentoring and developing future farmers.
  • Independent and self-motivated: Capable of working autonomously in a remote setting.
  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable using online learning platforms and digital records.

Preferred But Not Essential

  • Teaching or tutoring experience in agriculture.
  • Holding (or working towards) a Level 5 qualification and/or NZQA Unit Standard 4098.
  • Experience in an agriculture-related business or training environment.
