As a Scheduler at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient scheduling and execution of planned activities within the factory. Working closely with the Manager Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Superintendents, Work Coordinators, and Planners, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed schedules to support maintenance operations. Your role will be critical in optimising resource allocation and productivity, minimising downtime, and ensuring that scheduled tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational priorities.

This position will be based in the Herbert Region, a scenic and culturally rich area in North Queensland. Centred around the town of Ingham, the region is known for its vibrant sugar cane industry, welcoming community, and strong Italian heritage. The Herbert Region combines the charm of rural living with meaningful work opportunities and a supportive local network, making it an ideal location for both personal and professional growth.

Your Role in Action

  • Maintenance Scheduling & Coordination Develop and manage comprehensive schedules, ensuring all planned maintenance, repairs, and inspections are executed efficiently while minimising disruptions to factory operations.
  • Resource Allocation & Work Prioritisation Allocate labour, equipment, and materials effectively to ensure optimal use of resources while balancing maintenance needs with production requirements.
  • Collaboration with Key Stakeholders Work closely with the Manager Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Superintendents, Work Coordinators, Planners, and other stakeholders to align scheduling priorities with operational and maintenance objectives.
  • Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement Utilise maintenance and operational data to improve scheduling efficiency, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance overall reliability.
  • Use of Scheduling & CMMS Systems Maintain and update scheduling information in SAP and Rhine River ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Compliance & Safety Integration Ensure that all scheduled maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, as well as company policies and industry standards.
  • Communication & Reporting Provide regular updates on scheduling progress, potential delays, and resourcing challenges to key stakeholders, ensuring clear and proactive communication across teams.

Your Winning Combination

Our ideal applicant will possess strong proficiency in applications such as SAP, MS Project, Excel, and Word for planning and scheduling activities. A solid understanding of crushing mill operations and maintenance is ideal, along with excellent communication and organisational skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders. Experience in the sugar industry, trade qualifications or above, and functional or master data expertise in SAP would be highly regarded. Candidates with multi-discipline maintenance experience in fixed plant operations will be well-suited for this role.
