Your impact and responsibilities:
Daimler Truck Financial Services are seeking a highly motivated, commercially minded General Counsel and Company Secretary to join our team based in Mulgrave, in this 2 year maternity leave cover.
As our Corporate Counsel, you will initially work closely alongside the General Counsel and Company Secretary, gaining in-depth exposure to all aspects of the legal, company secretarial, and loss recoveries portfolio, as well as Daimler compliance matters. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from the current General Counsel in preparation for stepping into the General Counsel and Company Secretary role to cover the maternity leave period.
As our General Counsel and Company Secretary, you will be responsible for leading the legal and company secretarial function and the loss recoveries portfolio and also working with the Daimler Local Compliance Officer on various Daimler compliance topics.
You will manage and lead a direct report and become a key member of the local Daimler Truck Financial Services Executive Committee.
You will also become part of a diverse and knowledgeable global Daimler legal community providing opportunities for global knowledge sharing, learning and support.
Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you will have extensive post-admission experience, preferably in-house for a large corporation or in a top-tier firm. You are motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic and can apply legal concepts in a practical and commercial way. Experience within the automotive finance industry or finance industry generally is preferred. The successful candidate will either already be also admitted in New Zealand or will be able to start the admission/practising certificate process in New Zealand as soon as possible as we expand.
