Position overview
The purpose of Campus Environment is to enable world-class, safe, sustainable and inclusive campus environments through innovative operational excellence and a culture of unity that upholds the ANU founding mission of enduring significance. The four key portfolios are Infrastructure and Planning, Operations, Corporate and Environmental Sustainability. The Environmental Sustainability portfolio is responsible for managing the University’s sustainability initiatives in line with the Environmental Management Plan.
The Environmental Sustainability Manager works across campus to assess, develop, facilitate and monitor environmental sustainability initiatives, strategies and plans with a particular focus on the built environment. This encompasses initiatives across the University’s environmental management program including but not limited to energy management, water conservation, sustainable buildings, circular economy and nature conservation. The role will liaise widely with campus students, staff, and external collaborators on environmental issues, particularly those linked to the built environment.
To excel in this role, you will have relevant postgraduate qualifications and demonstrated extensive experience in environmental management, engineering, environmental science or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and qualifications/training working on environmental sustainability in the built environment. Demonstrated experience in mitigating greenhouse gases, energy management, water conservation, sustainable buildings, circular economy, biodiversity conservation, climate risk management, data analysis and environmental assessments and audits will be highly regarded.
