The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia's (BDA) provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, the Engineering function has developed a Capability Plan to enable the Engineering workforce to meet our defence customers' evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.

BDA is looking for a Product Data Management Specialist to join the Engineering Strategy & Operations team, who are focused in creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce. In this role you will be making a meaningful contribution to data compliance and traceability in support of the Battlespace Communications System for the Australian Defence Force.

This role is based on-site in Brisbane, Queensland.

As a Product Data Management Specialist within BDA, you will

  • Manage programmatic and technical documentation as part of an overall project plan.
  • Co-ordinate the flow of project-related data and documentation within the project team, and between internal and external agencies.
  • Apply and maintain the controls necessary for data to meet security, trade control and intellectual property requirements.
  • Conduct data dispatch, packaging, protection and acknowledgement of receipt for Classified Data, Archived Data and documentation and execute data transfers as required.
  • Conduct data audit checks within tools to ensure correct principles are being applied and records management practices are adhered to and compliant.
  • Assist and train project team members on the use of available systems, tools and processes to manage documentation.
  • Work with the Configuration Management team to ensure technical data is captured and managed in accordance with established methods and processes.
  • Manage the retention, archival and disposal requirements of stored records and data.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Data Management processes and procedures in accordance with business and customer requirements.
  • Effectively interface with program team members and customers to support services delivered under the program.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in document and content management, and record keeping in an electronic document management system.
  • Previous experience in defence or engineering highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities with attention to detail.
