We are a values-led practice. Our values simultaneously reflect who we currently are and provide a pathway to how we can further realise COX’s unifying idea of ‘By the Many, For the Many’. About the role:
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone with around four years’ experience who is ready to take the next step. You’ll drive and support media relations efforts, content creation, campaign delivery and storytelling. You’ll need to be a natural communicator: proactive, organised and confident juggling competing priorities, and importantly, be a strong writer who can extract the strongest story from a high volume of content, and remix it to share across different channels and audiences.

Key responsibilities:
Media and communications strategy

Support the PR Lead in delivering the Sydney studio’s earned media and communications program
Help uncover, shape and pitch compelling stories from across the practice to media across diverse verticals
Assist in the delivery of proactive media campaigns, including building media lists, tracking media coverage and maintaining strong journalist relationships
Contribute to the planning and execution of communications projects, including major design announcements, events, publications and milestones
Review media coverage and share relevant articles and insights with internal stakeholders; provide regular reporting on performance

Content creation and adaptation

Draft and adapt content for a range of formats: press releases, website copy, social media, interview briefs and award entries
Develop engaging day-to-day social media content for platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn
Liaise with internal project teams to gather information, source imagery and shape compelling content
Internal collaboration and relationship building
Build strong relationships with internal teams to uncover surprising, meaningful stories from across the practice
Collaborate with project teams to ensure stories are authentic, well-informed and aligned with the studio’s voice and strategy

Social media knowledge

Demonstrate a deep understanding of social media platforms, current trends and what makes content resonate
Monitor media and cultural trends, bringing fresh, relevant ideas into the mix

About you

Around 3-4 years’ experience in PR and communications, experience working in agencies, or in architecture and design is a bonus
Deep understanding of the media landscape, including crafting, pitching, and managing story development with journalists
Strong media relationships across news, business, lifestyle, architecture, design and cultural sectors
Confident in developing and rolling out integrated communications plans, hosting media interviews, briefing senior spokespeople
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content across media, digital, and internal platforms
Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Self-starter with strong initiative and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Positive, collaborative, and excited to grow your career in a purpose-driven, creative environment
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field
