The National Blood Authority (NBA) is an Australian Government statutory agency whose role is to work in a collaborative manner with all Australian governments and blood sector stakeholders to save and improve Australian lives and patient outcomes through a world-class blood supply.
For 20 years, the NBA has delivered an uninterrupted supply of blood and blood products to Australians in need under the national blood arrangements.
Fresh Blood Products Team (on behalf of all Australian Governments) manages the contract with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood) to collect, process and supply fresh blood products and services. This is essential to saving and improving lives across Australia every day.
About the role
As a Project Officer you will work in a very small team to review and advise on operational policy in relation to fresh blood products and services for Australia. With the support of the Assistant Director, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, state and territory governments, other Commonwealth agencies, and Lifeblood in relation to fresh blood products and services.
You will also help manage corporate reporting on behalf of the broader team.
In this role you will support and deliver a broad range of projects that relate to fresh blood supply. This includes, but is not limited to, developing project management artefacts, reviewing and analysing data, technical and scientific material, assessing new projects and policy proposals and researching and advising on legislation and research pieces as they relate to the fresh blood supply.
You will have strong organisational skills and be able to undertake work autonomously. You will also have strong communication, research and analysis skills. You will be able to build effective relationships, contribute to team culture and structure, plan and support projects.
Experience in a health policy or operational setting and project management are highly desirable.
