About this Position Reporting to the Site Manager, this role leads Henkel staff and contractors to ensure reliable site operations, safe maintenance practices, and delivery of capital projects on time and within budget. It drives performance and innovation through new technology and manages projects from feasibility to completion. The role ensures compliance with safety regulations and Henkel standards across all engineering activities.

- Lead the Equipment Reliability and Site Maintenance Program to maximize uptime of critical equipment and systems, and report performance to the Site Manager.
- Manage end-to-end delivery of capital projects, including feasibility studies, investment applications, and project execution.
- Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities meet Australian regulations and Henkel’s safety and compliance standards, including Safe Work Permit coordination.
- Oversee and develop the Maintenance and Engineering team, addressing skill gaps and supporting staff development or hiring needs.
- Manage contractor selection and performance to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-quality service delivery.
- Provide technical input for new production processes, facility upgrades, and business integration initiatives.
- Maintain engineering documentation in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Liaise with external authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance and smooth delivery of capital works.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering or maintenance within a manufacturing environment, ideally in high-hazard chemical settings.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or extensive senior trade/supervisory experience in a similar environment.
- Proven track record in capital project management, maintenance strategy development, and use of CMMS systems (e.g., MEX).
- Strong commitment to safety, with experience in risk assessments, safe work permitting, and applying Management of Change processes.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills, with ability to influence, manage diverse teams, and perform under pressure.
- Proficient in Lean or TPM principles, process control systems (e.g., Siemens PCS 7), Microsoft Office, and engineering documentation/CAD management.
