About the role:
We are currently seeking a Mining Engineer reporting to our Planning Superintendent on site at our Coppabella-Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) located near Moranbah.
The main purpose of this position is to develop medium to short and medium term mine designs and schedules for CMJV. A key focus will be to monitor and report on production performance against the plans and schedules and to ensure compliance with safety, legislative and statutory requirements.

This position is offered on a 8 and 6 roster. The role has flexibility to allow for residential, DIDO from Mackay and surrounds or FIFO out of Brisbane.

The main purpose of this position is to develop medium to short and medium term mine designs and schedules for CMJV. A key focus will be to monitor and report on production performance against the plans and schedules and to ensure compliance with safety, legislative and statutory requirements.
Duties will include:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to maximise operational productivity and utilisation of equipment in schedules.
- Preparation and communication of site physicals for annual budget and monthly forecast processes.
- Provide detailed rolling medium term forecasts and budgets for the operation.
- Communicate effectively with technical services, CHPP, maintenance and mine operations personnel in relation to deliverables for mid/long term schedules which would include; physical quantities, resource and utilisation requirements to deliver schedules and long term mine plans.
- Assist and mentor other members of the technical services team as required, e.g. design, EOM process, and short term engineering challenges.
- Ensure designs/schedules are compliant with the site SHMS, relevant statutory requirements, and legislation.
- Actively report hazards and incidents.
- Participate in safety investigations as required.
- Always act in a safe manner.
- Undertake project work as directed.

You will have experience in a similar role, ideally from within the resources sector.
- Demonstrated experience as a Mining Engineer is essential.
- Demonstrate experience in a mine operation.
- Proven site experience in mine scheduling and design, along with associated tasks (e.g. rehabilitation design, haulage modelling, etc.).
- Competent user of Vulcan, Deswik, Spry.
- Demonstrated experience of contributing to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
- Commitment to safety and the environment.
