Your New Role Looks Like This:
Are you passionate about driving positive change and improving systems that support our most vulnerable communities? Join our internal audit team and play a key role in ensuring quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across our home health and residential aged care services
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Auditor who thrives on autonomy and collaboration. You’ll conduct independent, risk-based reviews and support the integrity of our operations by strengthening governance, evaluating risk, and identifying opportunities for process enhancement
What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct audits using Australian Unity’s internal audit methodology to assess and improve key processes, controls, and risk environments.
  • Develop tailored audit programs to evaluate control design and effectiveness through enquiry and testing.
  • Monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation in the aged care and home health sectors.
  • Stay current with industry and technological developments to ensure audits are future-focused and responsive to emerging risks.
  • Communicate audit findings clearly and constructively to stakeholders through written reports and direct conversations.
  • Collaborate with managers to assess action plans and recommend practical, value-adding solutions.
  • Manage audit projects to completion within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Continually invest in your own professional development to stay at the forefront of internal audit practices.

About You:
  • Minimum three years of internal auditing experience (external audit experience from a Big 4 environment will also be considered)
  • Eligibility in professional accounting bodies (i.e., CAANZ, CPA Australia and IIA) and a commitment to continuing professional development
  • Tech-savvy and appreciation of IT risks in a computer-driven economy and rapid technology changes in areas of IT security and access, and general application controls. An appreciation and understanding of data analytics / mining would be beneficial
  • Well-developed and effective communication skills including a high standard of business report writing
  • Understanding and application of financial principles and grasp of business concepts
  • Ability to work autonomously and within defined methodologies and timeframes
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. TeamMate and ACL advantageous.
  • High standard of professionalism, objectivity, ethics, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Self-starter with strong time management and organisational skills
  • Strong business acumen, with a pragmatic approach and ‘bigger picture’ mindset
