Job Description
Wan & Co Lawyers, a dynamic boutique firm in Sydney’s CBD, is seeking a motivated Junior Lawyer to Associate with 1–3 years’ post-admission experience in immigration law. You will join a friendly, collaborative and fully paperless practice and work under the direct mentorship of our Principal, an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law.
About The Role
This full-time position is based in our Sydney office. You will manage a diverse caseload from lodgement through to resolution, including Department applications, Tribunal and court appearances. You can expect exposure to complex matters such as character cancellations, PIC 4020 and VACCU referrals, visa refusals and Ministerial intervention requests.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Manage immigration matters end to end, from initial instructions to final outcome
- Represent clients before the Department of Home Affairs, AAT and Federal Courts
- Provide strategic legal advice and draft high-quality written work, including submissions, advices and witness statements
- Liaise with clients, government bodies and third-party stakeholders
- Uphold rigorous standards of written and verbal communication and attention to detail
- Admitted as a lawyer in Australia with 1–3 years’ PAE in immigration law
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent client-facing communication skills
- Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese (essential); other languages advantageous
- Tech-fluent and comfortable in a paperless, digital workflow
- An existing client base will be highly regarded but is not essential
- Structured mentorship and career development under an Accredited Specialist
