Keeping our kitchen running smoothly is essential to delivering an exceptional dining experience. As a Full-time Commis Chef, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every dish is prepared with precision and care. From supporting senior chefs with high-quality food preparation to guiding junior team members and upholding strict food safety standards, your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will keep our kitchen operating at its best. With high standards that align with ours, you’ll bring passion, teamwork, and pride to every shift.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Support the delivery of exceptional guest dining experiences by embodying the hotel’s “Winning Ways” culture.
  • Prepare, present, and store a variety of dishes in accordance with established portion and quality standards.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with guests and internal departments.
  • Escalate guest feedback or concerns to senior chefs in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Assist in service preparation by ensuring ingredients, materials, and equipment are ready and organised.
  • Contribute to cost control through accurate portioning, proper storage, and minimising waste.
  • Follow standard recipes and procedures to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Work across various kitchen sections and rosters, including weekends and public holidays, as business needs require.
  • Maintain high personal standards in grooming, hygiene, and professional behaviour.
  • Support a positive team environment by mentoring junior staff and kitchen hands.
  • Attend daily briefings and actively participate in training and development programs.
  • Rotate through different kitchen stations and contribute to a flexible and efficient team.
  • Uphold hotel policies and procedures including health and safety, food hygiene, and operational standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of safe handling/lifting procedures
  • Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage
