In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for efficient and accurate inventory management, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and supporting our kitchen and events services teams. You’ll also play a key role in supplier communication, workplace safety, and ensuring exceptional service for our clients and exhibitors.
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Verifying and checking all merchandise/goods against purchase orders (for price and quantity), ensuring they are stored under optimal conditions and ready for issuing. Maintain cleanliness and high hygienic standards, including HACCP monitoring of incoming food orders.
- Maintaining logs for invoices and incoming/outgoing goods.
- Ensuring all orders (e.g., Concert Riders, Par Stocks) are fully filled in line with operational requirements.
- Managing the daily delivery of goods to department storage areas or conferences/exhibitors.
- Adhering to correct ordering procedures through Purchaseplus.
- Assisting with food and beverage stocktakes as needed.
- Supporting the kitchen and event service team with purchase orders, invoicing, and supplier communication.
- Promoting NCCC & IHG values and True Hospitality.
- Ensuring the car park is fully operational at all times.
- Streamlining exhibition and concert bump-ins and bump-outs in collaboration with the events services team.
- Providing high-level customer service for all exhibitors during bump-ins and bump-outs.
- Ensuring proper stock rotation for both the NCCC kitchen and events services departments.
- Prioritizing and delivering excellent customer service to NCCC suppliers for the kitchen, facilities, events services, and exhibitions.
- Demonstrating awareness and understanding of WHS policies and procedures.
- Cooperating with management in the implementation of WHS-related initiatives.
- Avoiding actions that may result in injury to themselves or colleagues.
- Actively reporting workplace hazards, injuries, and accidents, and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Wearing and maintaining PPE as required to control exposure to workplace hazards.
- Using safety and emergency equipment, plant materials, tools, and substances provided in the workplace responsibly.
- Ensuring all inductions and orientations are completed for on-site contractors.
- Ensuring all contractors follow safe work methods.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
- Food Safety Certificate
- Year 12 certificate or equivalent
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of safe handling/lifting procedures
- Good physical health
- Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage
