Position Description
- Provide legal advice across a range of areas, including administrative law, commercial law, employment law, integrity, and litigation.
- Prepare submissions and make recommendations to support statutory decision-making under national regulatory frameworks.
- Deliver high-quality legal advice on legislative and policy matters relevant to operational requirements.
- Undertake legal research and contribute to internal training on relevant legal topics.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and a variety of external stakeholders.
- Manage complex legal issues within tight time frames and shifting priorities.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and key documentation.
- Law degree from an Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) and admission as a legal practitioner in a Supreme Court of a State or Territory.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Administrative law (e.g. freedom of information, privacy)
- Commercial law
- Employment law
- Integrity and litigation
- Strong decision-making and judgement in delivering legal advice across varied practice areas.
- Well-developed skills in legal research, document review, and drafting.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of integrity frameworks, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
- Baseline Clearance.
- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Law degree from an Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) and admission as a legal practitioner in a Supreme Court of a State or Territory.
