The Opportunity
At CSR we're committed to shaping the built environment through innovative, sustainable, and design-forward solutions. As a market leader in the construction materials industry, CSR are currently seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team based in North Ryde.
This role is vital in ensuring our environmental compliance and sustainability efforts are executed with precision, transparency, and integrity across all CSR sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and coordination of annual environmental compliance reporting (NGERS, NPI, EPA Annual Returns, Climate-related disclosures), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness.
- Engage with third-party auditors and environmental regulators to support audits and maintain environmental licensing and compliance.
- Compile, review, and manage centralised documentation for site-level and company-wide reporting, ensuring data quality and continuous improvement in reporting processes.
- Monitor and assess environmental risks and regulatory changes to support mitigation strategies and enhance business resilience.
- Investigate environmental incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to reduce risk and improve environmental outcomes.
- Advise operational and property teams on environmental approvals, permits, and EMS audits, contributing to improvements in emissions, water, waste, noise, odour, and land use.
- Support the development and delivery of environmental training programs to build capability and promote compliance across sites.
- Contribute to executive and board-level environmental reporting, including risk profiling and performance updates.
- Stay abreast of evolving environmental legislation and climate-related disclosures, ensuring proactive compliance.
- 5 + years' experience in an environmental, sustainability, or compliance role, preferably in manufacturing, mining, construction, or heavy industry.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance reporting, auditing, and regulatory engagement.
- Strong knowledge of Australian environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
