Position Information

Dural Public School is an innovative and dynamic school that creates a positive and engaging environment by encouraging all learners to 'Strive for Success'. The school is in a semi-rural setting with 353 students, 14 classes (including two Opportunity Classes), and 24 teaching and 9 support staff. The school has a diverse student population with 53% of students from a language background other than English. Our school offers learning and support programs for Kindergarten to Year 6 through our Learning and Support and English as an Additional Language/Dialect teachers.

We have a specialist art teacher who runs our visual arts program, showcasing student creative talents in a themed art show each year. Our librarian runs library lessons focusing on developing a love of rich literature. Our technology resources support the meaningful integration of digital resources into all key learning areas.

The school offers an abundance of extra–curricular activities to develop talent in the intellectual, creative, social-emotional and physical domains. The school has achieved many successes in sport, academics and creative and performing arts.


Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
  • Exemplary classroom practice and demonstrated ability to build an inclusive school culture with high expectations for all students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a dynamic leadership team, strategically planning, leading and monitoring initiatives and applying evaluative practices to drive continuous improvement in the implementation of the School Excellence Plan.
  • A collaborative leader, with demonstrated ability to develop high relational trust, who inspires, builds capacity and supports all staff to effectively implement curriculum and current pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead positive and proactive whole school programs with a focus on embedding technology.
  • Evidence of an approachable, highly visible leader with capacity to build and maintain positive partnerships that foster teamwork and engage all levels of the school and the wider community.


General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
