About the role:

Rabobank’s Security Operations Centre (SOC) is a vital part of the Security & Control division within the bank’s COO Domain. Our mission? To safeguard the bank from cyber threats & ensure the resilience of the IT systems that power our business.

Rabobank has an opening for a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Manager. This pivotal role leads the delivery, operation & uplift of SOC services across Australia & New Zealand. Based in Sydney, you will be at the forefront of cyber defence, guiding a passionate team of 5, & leading the Crisis Operations Team (COT) during critical incidents.

Top Role Accountabilities:

• Lead, develop & motivate a Sydney-based SOC team across security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, & threat hunting
• Cultivate a collaborative, innovative, & high-performance team culture
• Oversee real-time monitoring, detection, & response to security incidents
• Drive innovation & maturity in SOC capabilities
• Develop & implement strategies, policies, & procedures
• Lead cross-regional incident response efforts & coordinating with IT teams
• Ensure 24/7 readiness for incident response & disaster recovery capabilities
• Lead Crisis Operations Team (COT) leadership during major events
• Conduct forensic investigations & deep-dive artifact analysis
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for security operations, security information & event management, & threat intelligence
• Provide expert guidance on both local & global security incidents
• Advise senior stakeholders & regulators on incident impact & response strategies
• Champion proactive threat hunting initiatives
• Translate audit & penetration test findings into actionable use cases
• Build strong, trusted relationships with global security teams & key stakeholders

To be successful you will have:

• Strong background leading security operations in complex environments
• Proven experience in managing technical & operational teams
• Deep understanding of compliance & regulatory frameworks
• Solid grasp of industry security standards such as ISO27001
• Knowledge in the following: threat assessment & remediation; Incident management; penetration testing principles, tools, & techniques; & cloud security
• Solid reporting skills for executive & board-level audiences
• Strong communication skills with a customer-centric approach, & the confidence to engage effectively
• Excellent technical documentation skills
• Experience in a global organisation is highly regarded
