As a result of exponential growth, we are looking to hire an Executive (equivalent to a Senior Manager/Associate Director in Big4 consulting) to join our Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) team in any of Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane.
As an Executive, you will be responsible for delivering strategic ESG and risk solutions, as well as providing effective communication to clients, maintaining key Ashurst and client relationships, and contributing to the growth and development of the Risk Advisory practice and ESG team in Australia. You will be responsible for structuring and managing the end-to-end project scope, budget and matter admin, developing project plans, identifying resourcing needs, delegating and reviewing work across the project team, supervising/coaching the team and meeting delivery dates.
You will also drive and contribute to business development activities, including tendering, to build the profile of the firm and yourself.
Your work will include advising clients on the development and implementation of strategic planning and ESG risk frameworks, the assessment of risk programs, reviewing sustainability-related governance frameworks and the design and implementation of compliance programs. Previous experience in projects, social performance, energy transition, sustainability risk mitigation, native title, Aboriginal cultural heritage or land access approvals is highly desirable.

We are interested in hearing from you if:
- You have 8+ years of specialised ESG/sustainability experience, ideally within a respected consulting environment or sustainability-related industry role, and are comfortable with the common tools, frameworks and standards in this space. Experience providing ESG focused governance, risk and compliance advice to a range of clients is essential.
- You have previous experience in projects, social performance, energy transition, sustainability risk mitigation, native title, Aboriginal cultural heritage or land access approvals is highly desirable.
- You're a self-starter who is keen to work in a fast-paced environment that is always evolving and requires you to be proactive, confident and humble.
- You have proven experience delivering high quality work for clients and stakeholders in line with expectations and deadlines, including sustainability programs and projects, such as environmental and climate change strategy or Traditional Owner engagement.
- You have proven experience in business development including, developing go-to-market material and proposals.
- You have experience developing and managing project plans and ensuring project budgets are met.
- You have proven experience coaching and guiding junior members of your team.
- You're excited to work in a team that allows you to take on more responsibility and pro-actively get involved in a range of work, including client interaction and business development.
