The Opportunity

They are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will have full responsibility for financial management, reporting, business partnering, and treasury functions. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, instrumental in supporting business growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • They are looking for a strategic leader who can attract and secure investors, whether through private equity, strategic partnerships, or institutional funding, to support our ambitious growth agenda
  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting and financial reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee treasury operations including cash flow management, funding strategies, and banking relationships
  • Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, internal controls, and risk management
  • Partner closely with operational teams to align financial performance with business objectives
  • Prepare board-level reports and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence

About You

  • CA, CPA, or CFA qualified with at least 10 years of senior financial leadership experience, ideally in agriculture, agribusiness or a related sector
  • Demonstrated success in raising capital and engaging with investors or funding bodies
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset, with proven experience leading financial operations for businesses with turnover exceeding $350 million.
  • In-depth understanding of Australian corporate finance, tax, and compliance frameworks
  • Hands-on, proactive, and collaborative leadership style
  • High integrity, resilience, and the ability to influence and engage at all levels
