About the role
AGL's BESS Operations team have a newly created and exciting opportunity for a Site Team Leader (BESS).
Based in Torrens Island, you will be supervising all maintenance and operation of AGL's growing grid-scale battery fleet.
AGL's ambitious energy targets of 12GW of new renewable and firming capacity by 2035 see grid-scale batteries as a key part of our asset portfolio. This role will provide long-term growth and exposure to a variety of different projects.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the development of BESS service, repair schedules and operational management plans.
- Working with multidisciplined team of engineers, operators and technicians.
- Providing leadership and management of AGL's contractor management system.
- Performing site-based audits on employees and contractors, ensuring appropriate work is conducted on site.
- Managing permit to work systems.
- Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure BESS maintenance activities are delivered on time.
- Being the HV Operating Authority on site.
What you'll bring:
- Trade qualification in electrical discipline and High Voltage switching operations certificate
- HV Switching experience and creating Switching Plans
- Capability with varied software systems including SCADA, permitting systems, maintenance systems and similar.
- SA Drivers' license
- Experience in permit creation and workflow management
- Demonstrated risk management experience including hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation/preventative control awareness.
- Ability to lead on site and manage competing priorities and multiple projects.
