Shape the stories that move audiences.

Queensland Ballet is seeking a dynamic Publicity and Communications Manager to lead media relations and champion our company’s public voice. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the narrative of one of Australia’s leading arts organisations at a time of transition, ambition, and innovation.

In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for managing Queensland Ballet’s publicity strategy and media relationships, working with the Executive Office to shape strategic communications. From securing high-impact coverage for our productions and programs, to crafting compelling stories that celebrate our people and purpose, your work will directly influence how the world sees Queensland Ballet.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Growth Strategy, you’ll work collaboratively across internal teams and external stakeholders—including media, partners, and government representatives—to elevate Queensland Ballet’s reputation and reach. Your voice will be central to telling our story—on stage, in the studio, and in the community.

You’ll Thrive In This Role If You Have

  • Proven experience in publicity and media relations – ideally in the cultural, entertainment or not-for-profit sector.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and editing skills.
  • A track record of building strong relationships with media and securing meaningful coverage.
  • A strategic mindset and calm presence under pressure
  • A passion for the arts and a flair for turning vision into voice.

Desirable Extras

  • Experience working with high-profile creatives or public figures.
  • Familiarity with Queensland’s media and government landscape.
  • A deep appreciation of the performing arts and its unique communications challenges.

This is a full-time role based at the Thomas Dixon Centre in Brisbane—Queensland Ballet’s home and a cultural precinct dedicated to artistic excellence, community engagement, and creativity.

Apply now to be part of a company where storytelling, artistry, and purpose come together—on stage and beyond.
