Your impact

The Principal Design Manager – Dams is responsible for working as part of a team to provide design management services to the clients in the water sector, through our ongoing client partnership frameworks and standalone major projects. #JacobsWaterANZ

The Principal Design Manager – Dams must have a good understanding in managing complex engineering design packages relating to the design of dam safety upgrades, new dams, and all associated works to support an overall dam safety program.

Responsible for implementing Jacobs QA procedures and Client QA requirements.

Monitoring and reporting of project progress, risks and issues. Hands on design management including civil, geotechnical, geological, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering disciplines.

Facilitate the production of documentation to enable construction.

Ensure project work complies with the project scope of works, statutory/regulatory requirements and client standards. Support field work of clients and their contractors during commissioning.

Managing the review of drawings and documents by Senior Designers and Engineers in various groups.

Meet commercial outcomes by managing own hours and budgets, and where applicable hours and budgets of other team members.

Preparation of cost estimates and drawing lists for projects. You will support your PU to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships in order to maximise the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people
