Digital Forensics Lead

We are seeking dynamic and self-driven digital forensics leaders to join our Digital Forensics team in the Cyber Operations branch.
As a Digital Forensics Lead, you will lead a team of highly skilled digital forensics officers in the collection and analysis of electronic evidence. You’ll oversee end-to-end forensics activities, including the collection, preservation, examination, and analysis of digital evidence from computers, servers, cloud, and mobile devices, ensuring that all work adheres to the highest standards of technical, legal, and ethical integrity.
In this role, you will lead a variety of tasks involving highly sensitive, confidential, and explicit material. You’ll provide expert advice and guidance to business partners on the efficient, effective, and legally compliant use of technology, driving effective change management in this context. You’ll also offer strategic advice on complex digital investigations and evidence management. You’ll develop advanced forensic methodologies and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with international standards and technological advancements.
You may be required to attend conferences and external events representing digital forensics for the ATO. This position will require interstate travel to support ATO investigations and fieldwork across the country, which can include overnight stays and occasional work beyond ordinary hours on an ad hoc basis and attend regular mandatory counselling sessions as required.
You will drive team capability development and provide mentorship to support staff growth and performance.
These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Brisbane CBD, Melbourne CBD or Sydney CBD. A merit pool may be formed and used to fill future similar vacancies in these locations and other locations within the same metropolitan area.
