  • Assist with recruitment across both Retail and HQ, while ensuring the effective use and upkeep of the applicant tracking system (e.g., Lever)
  • Drive employee engagement by facilitating clear, consistent communication across the business through channels like Slack, communication boards, and email updates
  • Plan and execute cultural initiatives and team events to promote engagement, collaboration, and connection across departments
  • Conduct regular employee check-ins to support retention, and coordinate digital exit interviews to identify and address trends impacting turnover
  • Provide frontline support for employee relations matters, including coaching leaders on low-level interpersonal and performance issues, and managing escalated cases as appropriate
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns, escalating serious matters (e.g., discrimination, harassment, or ethical breaches) to relevant internal contacts
  • Lead onboarding and induction programs to ensure new hires understand the company’s values, culture, and expectations from day one
  • Promote learning and development by supporting employee upskilling initiatives, and collaborating on job aids, training resources, and development programs
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, Fair Work directives, award conditions, and data privacy standards, maintaining secure and confidential employee records
  • Support workplace health and safety efforts in partnership with the OH&S Manager, ensuring incidents are documented, reported, and managed effectively, while fostering a culture of safety

What you will bring:

  • 3+ years' experience in a People & Culture/HR generalist role, ideally with retail exposure
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and modern awards (knowledge of NZ employment law highly advantageous)

  • Experience in driving employee engagement and performance improvement
  • Strong coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with a passion for people
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment
