About the Role
Clarence Correctional Centre features three state-of-the-art health clinics, delivering high-quality care to a diverse inmate population of approximately 1,700 individuals. As part of the health team, you’ll play a key leadership role—providing clinical oversight, strategic input, and recommendations to ensure healthcare services are responsive, inclusive, and meet evolving patient needs.
The role of the Nurse Practitioner – Mental Health is to provide assessment and intervention strategies to support and manage patients at an advanced and extended nursing level with particular emphasis on mental health. Diagnose and treat acute infections, injuries and illnesses where appropriate and consult with patients about effectively managing the health, design treatment plans, recommending further care.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Master of Nursing Practice
- Extensive experience in mental health nursing
- Endorsed by NMBA and able to prescribe (within your scope of practice)
- Experience in clinical assessment, care planning, review and discharge planning of individual patients including ongoing regular reviews
- Ability to confidently and proficiently carry out a range of procedures, treatments and intervention
