About The Role
As the Sourcing & Production Lead, you will oversee the sourcing, cost negotiation, and end-to-end production processes for all ADF products. You will ensure orders are delivered to specification and on time, manage supplier relationships, uphold Australian Industry Capability (AIC) obligations, and lead a high-performing production team. Working closely with internal stakeholders and supply chain partners, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, proactively manage risk, and ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.

About The Role
As the Sourcing & Production Lead, you will oversee the sourcing, cost negotiation, and end-to-end production processes for all ADF products. You will ensure orders are delivered to specification and on time, manage supplier relationships, uphold Australian Industry Capability (AIC) obligations, and lead a high-performing production team. Working closely with internal stakeholders and supply chain partners, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, proactively manage risk, and ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage the production of all ADF products, ensuring seamless delivery against agreed timelines.
- Source and negotiate costings to achieve cost efficiencies while maintaining quality standards.
- Lead supplier relationship management, ensuring responsibilities, processes, and timelines are clearly understood and met.
- Oversee compliance with AIC commitments and contractual obligations.
- Monitor freight and transit schedules to ensure timely bulk shipments and improve speed-to-market.
- Deliver contractual reporting, including:
- Safety performance (incidents, injuries, near misses)
- Service level performance and trend analysis
- Compliance (insurance, licensing, accreditation, and inductions)
- Innovation and continuous improvement updates
- Manage and resolve quality or delivery issues quickly and effectively throughout the production process.
- Support the transition of workload to suppliers, including patterns, sampling, and material testing.
- Work with stakeholders to manage approvals for bulk fabrics, trims, pre-production samples, and material testing.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and lead initiatives to mitigate potential risks.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements across production processes.
- Lead, support, and develop team members, ensuring strong performance and continuous capability development.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production management or sourcing management role.
- Experience working with government contracts and/or agencies (highly desirable).
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (desirable).
- Strong understanding of local and offshore manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to manage complex supply chains, supplier performance, and compliance requirements.
- Solid negotiation and problem-solving skills with a solutions-driven mindset.
