Technology Risk Consultant

A brand-new opportunity has become available to join a major transformation initiative with a leading financial services organization, based in Brisbane for a fixed-term role.

We are looking for a Technology Risk Specialist who can engage deeply with solution designers and risk managers to review and challenge technology risks.

You will not be managing risk teams or frameworks directly but will guide and influence Line 2 risk functions and stakeholders to manage RAIDD logs and risk frameworks. Your input will help shape risk strategies mainly around delivered risk, ensuring alignment with business needs.

This role is best suited for someone with a solution architect mindset and someone who can critically review technical designs and solutions, understand the risks around technology decisions, and provide actionable insights and solutions for risk challenges.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide trusted risk advice and guidance across both business and technology teams
• Manage, analyse, and report on RAIDD activity
• Develop/implement strong risk management strategies addressing both delivery and operational risk
• Collaborate with delivery teams and stakeholders to build a clear risk picture
• Deliver insights that help shape and align strategic direction with program delivery
• Support internal and external assurance activities and reporting
• Maintain and update risk-related systems
• Contribute to regular risk reporting aligned with material risk categories for the Program

Key Skills Required:

• Previous experience working in a Technical Risk Analyst role
• Ability to understand risk around technology direction
• Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Sound knowledge of risk management frameworks and practices
• Strong analytical thinking and insight-driven approach
• Exposure to large-scale transformation initiatives or integration programs
• Background in Solution Architecture
• Previous experience working for a financial organization would be an asset
