What the role looks like

In this role, you will be reporting to the Manager, Financial Crime Operations.

You will be a key contributor in the following areas:


  • Investigating and providing concise written commentary on Transaction Monitoring alerts, Customer name Screening, and Unusual Matter Reports
  • Reviewing and approving complex cases, including and high-risk customers, transactions, and jurisdictions
  • Identifying triggers for Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD), applying appropriate control measures, and preparing high-quality, accurate reports
  • Utilising internal software systems, including transaction monitoring tools, fraud intelligence platforms, and AUSTRAC online for reporting and investigations
  • Recommending cases for potential Suspicious Matter Reporting (SMR) based on analysis and assessment
  • Applying knowledge of the AML/CTF Program and financial crime procedures
  • Supporting the Financial Crime team by stepping into the Senior Analyst role as required
  • Advising operations teams on KYC requirements, financial crime indicators, and the handling of complex member cases


Who are we looking for?

  • Curious people with a growth mindset who are passionate about preventing harm to our members
  • A strong working knowledge of the AML/CTF Act, Rules and AUSTRAC guidance
  • Experience conducting AML operations within an AUSTRAC Reporting Entity in Australia
  • The ability to independently produce clear, high-quality written assessments, including Transaction Monitoring and Customer Screening commentary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Relevant certificate-level qualifications in AML, fraud, risk, data, commerce or law (e.g. CTMA, ACAMS or similar). Degree or higher qualification preferred.
  • High levels of integrity, discretion, sound judgement and attention to detail
  • A collaborative mindset and a track record of contributing to high-performing teams
  • Experience using AML and fraud detection systems, such as Transaction Monitoring, Customer Name screening, and Electronic Identity Verification tools
