Position Information

Lidcombe Public School (enrolment approx. 780 students, including 94% from a non-English speaking background), is dedicated to maximising learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy. The school has developed a dynamic learning community with dedicated staff committed to continuous improvement in learning outcomes through quality teaching practices and programs. The school promotes positive student engagement with high expectations of teaching and learning, future focused learning with an emphasis on learning centres, individualised programming, and creating confident, happy, creative and critical thinkers. It is well resourced with new buildings, air conditioning, vast facilities and interactive whiteboards in all classrooms. There is a strong commitment to student wellbeing, student leadership, public speaking, special needs students and sport. The staff and parents enjoy a positive relationship, actively promoting the school and its students.

Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education

2. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs in literacy and

numeracy, with emphasis on student engagement.

3. Understanding of the educational needs of students from a non-English speaking background.

4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and build positive

relationships with students, staff and parents.

5. Capacity and willingness to undertake whole school initiatives.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity
