The Role
ASFI is seeking a talented individual to join their team in the role of Senior Analyst: Taxonomy Market Development, at a critical moment as they implement Australia's sustainable finance taxonomy. A groundbreaking initiative that will accelerate capital flows toward activities that enable emissions reductions across key sectors of the economy. The role is being offered as an 18-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
Following the release of Australia's sustainable finance taxonomy, this role will help manage ASFI’s taxonomy implementation pilot project, support the issuance of flagship transactions and contribute to integrating Australia's sustainable finance taxonomy framework with broader climate and sustainability policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Help manage the Australian taxonomy implementation pilot project as part of ASFI's Sustainability Standards and Practice team.
- Contribute to taxonomy market development, including engagement, awareness, education, and capability for investors, lenders, and corporates.
- Support the issuance of flagship taxonomy-aligned transactions.
- Develop overarching analysis and recommendations addressing key taxonomy use cases.
- Develop stakeholder-informed guidance covering taxonomy-aligned labelled bond issuance.
- Support ASFI’s efforts to encourage Australian leadership on sustainable finance internationally.
About You
With a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a sustainability-related role, you have a strong understanding of climate-related financial disclosures, taxonomies, transition plans, and other market transparency tools. Additionally, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, public policy, law, economics, environment, or a related discipline.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research and analytical skills.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
