About The Opportunity
Holcim has a superb opportunity for a Planning & Approval Manager to be based at our Hawthorn VIC office. As part of Holcim's National Planning Approvals team, you will engage with team members in other states / territories whilst working closely alongside the local aggregates, concrete and precast products businesses, as well as other functional teams.
As The Successful Candidate You Will Be Accountable For Managing The Planning & Approval Portfolio For The Numerous Sites Of Our Aggregates, Concrete And Precast Businesses Across Victoria And South Australia

You have a sharp intellect tempered by an engaging and empathic communication style. This allows you to proactively develop and implement project strategies as well as provide solutions while appreciating the commercial implications.
Day to day you rapidly adapt to change and can prioritise a large and diverse workload allowing you to successfully manage projects and partner with the business. You also have the ability to review large volumes of legal and technical information and cut through it to form strategic advice & action plans to direct the business.

- Providing strategic, risk based, advice to the business and functional teams - supporting short- and long-term business growth.
- Establishing and leading project teams including coordinating consultants and liaising with senior government agencies across the three tiers of government to efficiently deliver environmental approvals in a timely manner.
- Coordinating stakeholder consultation with the community, indigenous groups & agencies.
- Supporting Holcim Sustainability ambitions in Climate, Circularity and Nature and advocating for fit for purpose solutions.

Further Requirements Include
- Tertiary qualifications in an Urban/Town Planning or Environmental Science discipline.
- A proven track record of obtaining approvals for projects in the mining, materials, energy, transport or utilities industry.
- Solid understanding of the Victorian and South Australian extractive, planning and environmental regulations & approval processes.
- Excellent Project Management experience which will lead to innovative solutions for success.
- Superior communication, relationship building and conflict resolution skills - being able to educate parties in a foreign subject and influence internal stakeholders.
