What we are looking for:


Play a vital role in keeping our centre running safely and efficiently. You'll to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility by supervising projects and external contractors, and undertaking property, plant and equipment maintenance, grounds-keeping, and general repairs. If you're hands-on, safety-conscious, and ready to make a difference, this is your chance to contribute to a dynamic, community-focused facility. 


 


What your day will look like:




  • Plan and carry out cleaning, maintenance, and regular inspections.




  • Check and maintain equipment, buildings, and grounds as per the maintenance plan.




  • Test pool water, record results, and manage chemical levels to meet safety rules.




  • Keep an accurate list of all equipment and report any changes.




  • Work with the Centre Coordinator to manage safety risks and follow health and safety rules.




  • Train and supervise staff, ensure safe chemical handling, and follow pool safety guidelines.

What you’ll need for success:




  • Experience in an aquatic facility overseeing capital works, pool water quality and property, plant and equipment maintenance or similar.




  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.




  • Ability to manage projects and engage, schedule and supervise contractors and tradespersons.




  • Experience managing risk and work health and safety obligations, preferably in a sport/recreation environment.




  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.




  • Demonstrated understanding of the relevant statutory, regulatory and policy obligations relating to the management of aquatic facilities.




  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.




Licences:




  • Working with children card (Blue Card)




  • General Induction Training Card (White Card) or ability to acquire prior to appointment.




  • Queensland Class ‘C’ QLD Drivers Licence




Current or ability to obtain:




  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (equivalent to HLTAID011 and HLTAID009)




  • Aquatic Technical Operator certificate (equivalent to SISSS00110)




  • Certificate III in Swimming Pool and Spa Service (equivalent to CPP31218)




  • Enter and work in confined spaces certificate (equivalent to RIIWHS202E)




  • Work safely at heights certificate (equivalent to RIIWHS204E)




  • ChemCERT certificate in the safe handling/use of herbicides (equivalent to AHCCHM304 and AHCCHM307)




Desirable:




  • Current Pool Lifeguard qualification/licence (equivalent to SISSS00129)




  • Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service (equivalent to CPP41319)




  • Construction project management qualifications
