About the opportunity

At Mercy Health, you'll become part of a proud history built on over 100 years of expertise, skill and care. As a Senior ER Advisor, you'll join a friendly team of legally qualified practitioners on a range of complex ER/IR issues across our Healthcare and Aged Care services that operate across Australia.

What you'll bring

We are seeking a candidate with relevant qualifications in Employment Law, Industrial Relations or a related field that is able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, demonstrate our core values and be authentic and engaging in their work.

  • You will hold extensive experience and demonstrated competency of the Australian industrial relations system, employment legislation and regulation with strong award and enterprise agreement interpretation skills, including classification and entitlement queries.
  • Proficient in advising on industrial relations strategy, including enterprise bargaining, change management, union engagement and compliance with multiple workplace instruments.
  • Experience in representing in employment-related disputes and conciliations before the Fair Work Commission and other relevant tribunals.
  • Excellent attention to detail in both written and verbal communication. Experience in delivering training on changes to employment law and emerging risks is desirable.
  • Strong consultation, negotiation and relationship building abilities with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft suite of products, including Excel.
  • A good sense of humour and ability to connect with all types of people.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check.
