Airswift is seeking a highly experienced and passionate Cultural Heritage Coordinator to join our oil and gas client's team on a contract basis in Perth, Western Australia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and protection of cultural heritage assets. With your strong understanding of cultural heritage legislation and your proven track record of collaborating with traditional owners and local communities, you will play a pivotal part in upholding commitment to sustainable and ethical operations.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and implement cultural heritage management plans to identify, assess and mitigate risks to significant sites and artefacts
- Conduct cultural heritage surveys and monitor compliance with relevant legislation and approvals
- Liaise closely with traditional owners, local communities and regulatory bodies to ensure transparent and respectful engagement
- Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams on cultural heritage matters
- Maintain detailed records and reporting on cultural heritage management activities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cultural heritage management systems and procedures
- 4 months contract - subject to extension
- Tertiary qualifications in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management or a related field
- 2-4 years experience working as a Cultural Heritage Coordinator or in a similar role within the mining, resources or energy sectors
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant cultural heritage legislation, regulations and best practice frameworks
- Proven track record of successfully managing cultural heritage risks and issues on complex projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with traditional owners and local communities
- Strong project management capabilities and attention to detail
- Willingness to work flexibly and travel to remote project sites as required
