This position is responsible for providing guidance, direction and expertise, in accordance with local & national safety standards and within the Zoetis Global Safety Standards, on all site projects and activities for the transition of property ownership, site functions and operational readiness at GMS Melbourne. This role involves establishing EHS standards across project workstreams including key third-party suppliers, service providers and contractors. This is a temporary 2 year contract role , based on site at the Parkville, Melbourne site.

The EHS Project Lead will report to the Program Lead and work directly with the local Site EHS Leader.

Position Responsibilities

  • Project Support for Site Transition and Operational readiness (50%)

Partner and collaborate with respective workstream leaders to implement on EHS matters by providing hands-on support and effective communications to project teams for warehousing operations, demolition, construction/ trade management and traffic management.

Ensure adequate resources are in place to maintain EHS compliance, manage EHS risk, and drive a proactive and positive culture. Collaborate with Site EHS Leader on all regulatory body involvement.

Proactively engage in the development of HAZOPs, PSSR and Risk Assessments, SOP and training development including delivery and management of change.

Develop suitable KPIs and EHS goals to drive continuous EHS improvement.

Support partners with the Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Property Risk Management (FM Global), Emergency response and preparedness & Security to manage project impact on these programs.

  • Reviews and approval of contractors & service providers systems for management of their EHS.
  • Manage Capital Projects from an EHS Perspective (50%)

Lead, Review and endorse capital projects.

Contribute to key business decisions, drive investigations and initiate/participate in GEMBA.

Develop and implement EHS components of each workstream associated with the projetcts to include specific EHS plans as required.

Facilitate and drive EHS Project Management for active works (tool box, daily huddle, permits/high risk/loto, signage, barricades, focus walk, communications, contractor recognition, scheduled walk through).

Provide EHS integration and on-boarding support for project participants and partners to integrate into the specific areas of responsibility.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Interaction with manufacturing site EHS management, corporate EHS management, and site leadership teams.

Collaboration with business lines, site leadership, and external third-party suppliers.

RESOURCES MANAGED

Supervision: Matrix reporting experience required.

Education And Experience

Minimum education of a bachelor's degree in science, engineering, health and safety, or other relevant discipline.

Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in EHS and project management.

Experience within the pharmaceutical and/or construction environment will be highly regarded.

Advanced degree in EHS or risk management desirable.

Technical Skills Requirements

Proven leader with a sustained EHS performance record.

Good working knowledge of Australian EHS regulations and management systems.

Proven ability to develop and implement successful compliance programs in large and/or complex organizations.

Demonstrated agility and ability to work successfully across a complex organization.

Strong oral and written communication and organizational development skills.

Proficiency in English, written and oral, required.

Physical Position/Qualification Requirements

Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Ability to travel, drive, and work weekends and holidays as requested.

This role is based 100% on site at the Parkville site in Melbourne, Australia.
