Brightstar Resources (ASX: BTR) owns and operates the established Second Fortune Gold Mine and the newly launched Fish Gold Mine in the Laverton Goldfields region of Western Australia. Working from our head office in Subiaco, with regular travel to our sites, we are looking to welcome a new Group OHS Manager to our team.

You will be a seasoned OHS leader, with the flexibility and experience to add value across our rapidly expanding company; from our exploration team, our established underground operations, our newly launched underground operations, and future open pit projects. You will:

  • Maintain our established Mine Safety Management Systems, updating processes and policies as required
  • Create, execute, and embed OHS strategy across the entire business including exploration, production sites and our Subiaco corporate office
  • Lead, inspire and develop others to adopt our “safety first” approach to their work – within your team, key stakeholders, and across our employee / contractor population
  • Oversee incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Mentor and develop a Safety and Training team to partner with stakeholders and drive safety initiatives locally

Your strong communication skills, coupled with a strategic and planned approach to safety, will help embed the right safety culture across our entire population to ensure all our team members return home safely at the end of each shift. You will have previous experience in a similar leadership role, a contemporary and performance-focused approach to leadership, tertiary (preferred) qualifications in H&S, and advanced knowledge of WHS / DMIRS Acts, Regulations and reporting requirements. In additional, you will have experience across our current and future operations (exploration, underground mining, and open pit mining).

Apply now to make your mark on our rapidly growing mining company with a proud and consistently strong safety record.
