About The Role

As a result of the exciting roll out of our automated warehouse system we have two newly created Warehouse Technician Assistant roles available at our brand-new DC in Tullamarine

Reporting to the Facilities Manager there are two roles available one on Day Shift, 7am to 3pm and one on Afternoon Shift, 3.30pm to 11.36pm.

The key focus of this role will be to ensure the smooth operation of the Schaefer GTP(Goods To Person) and ASRS(Automated Stock Retrieval System) and associated conveyors, carton erectors and compactors technology.

If you love tinkering with tools, have a mechanical aptitude and enjoy fault finding and troubleshooting then this is the role for you!

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic faults such as blockages in CUBY or conveyors.
  • Monitor “Lighthouse” system to identify faults.
  • Cleaning & maintenance of machinery including conveyors, totes, carton erectors, compactors, document inserters and label machines.
  • Assist Schaefer tech in resolving escalated issues.
  • Lodge Schaefer support tickets when tech is not on site (after hours).
  • Communicate status with relevant TTI leadership.
  • Assist Schaefer tech with regular inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
  • Generate reports detailing equipment performance, downtime incidents, and maintenance tasks completed.
  • Communicate maintenance status and requirements to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager

About YOU

To be successful in this role you will have excellent mechanical aptitude and enjoy faut finding and implementing solutions. You are confident using hand and power tools and assembling/disassembling machinery or cars. You are a quick learner who goes above and beyond!

In addition, you have the following skills/experience:

  • Ability to understand how machinery works, general mechanical reasoning, visual/spatial relations.
  • Root cause analysis, trouble shooting, implementing a solution.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • The ability to follow up and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Experience working in a FMCG warehouse environment is advantageous
  • Experience with automation systems: i.e. GTP (Goods To Person), CUBY, ASRS (Automated Stock Retrieval System) is advantageous
  • Ability to disassemble/reassemble basic mechanical parts.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in restricted workspaces.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Intermediate IT skills
