We are looking for an experienced business development professional, project manager, design manager or principal engineer who enjoys the process of pursuits, work winning and business development and wants to develop their capability in this space to support our Victorian Civil Infrastructure business.
The Pursuits and Business Development Lead is a role ideally suited to those with civil infrastructure project delivery experience who want to expand or develop their work winning capability. The role would suit experienced business development professionals or could be considered as the next step in your career and a development opportunity.

Role accountabilities:
- Develop and manage the pipeline of opportunities for the Civil Infrastructure team;
- Lead the pursuit of key opportunities, including undertaking client meetings to develop a pursuit strategy;
- Develop successful bid strategies;
- Develop client relationships and opportunities, whilst optimising commercial outcomes;
- Provide oversight and support to the bid manager for all competitive bids, including overseeing the commercial and technical aspects of the bid process;
- Guide and mentor the bid team to achieve sector goals and ensure that bid consistency, and quality requirements are exceeded;
- Develop clients and opportunities, whilst optimising commercial outcomes;
- Work closely with our National Growth team and other disciplines to manage the bid process efficiently and effectively;
- Implement our strategy and look for opportunities for growth and diversification including diversification of revenue and workstreams
- Champion a client focused and entrepreneurial culture to the broader team; and
- Drive continuous improvement in all areas of work winning relating to the Civil Infrastructure Team.

You are a seasoned professional thriving in a high pressured, fast paced environment with strong industry ties and have demonstrated credibility in a consulting environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant experience in the design and engineering of Civil Infrastructure, which may include Highways, Structures, Ports and Airports etc.;
- Established relationships with clients in both the Government and Contractor sector;
- A growth mindset and be passionate about developing and growing our business;
- Experience and knowledge of the bid life cycle;
- Demonstrated experience of managing and delivering successful bids. Experience of managing and delivering bids across large and major infrastructure environments is highly desirable;
- A strong commercial understanding of project delivery to inform tender pricing;
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills;
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with both internal and external stakeholders together with strong presentation skills;
- Experience of working across boundaries, including knowledge of commercial management, finance functions; and
- Able to prioritize and meet demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and deliver in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing demands.
