Engineering Manager

Launch Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager Launch for a large consultancy supporting client in the financial services space.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the core of a key platform for the business —ensuring high performance, scalability, and seamless integration. Your leadership will foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture while delivering tangible business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Development: Mentor, coach, and support team performance and growth. Lead recruitment and onboarding. Champion diversity and inclusion
• Project & Resource Management: Drive project delivery, allocate resources effectively, and proactively manage risks
• Technical Leadership: Set and uphold engineering standards in architecture, design, and code quality. Provide guidance on complex technical challenges
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key liaison between engineering and stakeholders. Drive Agile delivery and report to senior management
• Architecture & Design: Ensure technical designs align with long-term product and business strategies
• Code Quality: Promote best practices in development, testing, and documentation
• Agile Delivery: Implement Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) to support iterative delivery and team velocity
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process and performance improvements
• Strategic Planning: Align engineering efforts with company-wide objectives and long-term growth goals
• Technology Leadership: Stay across emerging trends and champion innovation in platform development
  
  

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or similar role in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
• Strong expertise in platform architecture, system design, and scalable infrastructure
• Passion for coaching and developing teams with a track record of inclusive leadership
• Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies
• Deep technical knowledge in modern web technologies, cloud platforms, APIs, and DevOps practices
• A continuous improvement mindset and ability to make data-informed decisions
