The program

The Young Parents Program (YPP) provides safe, nurturing residential accommodation and outreach support for parents aged 13 to 25 with complex needs. Using a child-centred, therapeutically informed approach, YPP helps young parents build independence and confidence. Operated by the Australian Red Cross from its Randwick office, the program offers therapeutic case management, parenting classes, education, life skills training, and child development services.

The opportunity

As a volunteer Videographer, you will play a vital role in capturing the journey and voices of young parents supported by YPP. Your work will contribute to internal presentations, training, and storytelling - helping to build awareness, support, and understanding of the program’s impact. You will need strong communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.

  • Ability to manage projects from concept through to filming, editing, and delivery
  • Willingness to take direction, receive feedback, and collaborate with the YPP team
  • Proven experience in producing high-quality, engaging video content
  • Skilled in video editing and post-production using industry-standard software
  • Confident using a variety of videography and photography equipment and techniques
  • Strong time management and clear communication skills

Through your video work, you will help amplify the experiences of young parents and the value of the program, using visual storytelling to foster connection, learning, and inspiration. Your contribution will help document and share the progress and resilience of families engaged in YPP, strengthening advocacy and engagement across our networks.

Application Requirements

  • For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.
  • You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV and provide details for two professional references.
  • The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory. Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check.
