Primary Objective of Position:

The Payroll Officer is a critical role responsible for the seamless execution of weekly payroll. Processing end to end weekly pay run, the role ensures accurate and timely payroll delivery. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of payroll system data, and assist staff and management with all payroll-related queries.

Role Duties:

  • Coordinate and prepare end-to-end payroll-processing, maintenance, enquiries, reporting and balancing tasks to specific deadlines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in processing new starters, terminations, etc
  • End of month reporting and reconciliation.
  • Ensure that key payroll functions comply with relevant statutory and legislative requirements, including the timely processing of Child Support and Superannuation payments.
  • Interpret and apply industry-related awards and applicable industrial instruments to employee wages where required.
  • Provide advice and calculate leave entitlements based on relevant leave legislation.
  • Maintain company payroll records accurately and confidentially.
  • Provide accurate reporting concerning payroll-related issues.
  • Provide assistance and support on key department activities, initiatives, and projects.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Support the HR in achieving the desired results in all aspects of producing an accurate weekly payroll.

(b) Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in working with Preceda or Dayforce.
  • Experience in performing payroll processing functions.
  • Demonstrated experience of Award, Enterprise Agreement, and relevant legislation interpretation.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to problem solve.
