We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Beef Cattle Station Worker to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role you will be responsible for managing beef cattle operations including breeding, nutrition, health, and staff supervision while ensuring animal welfare, biosecurity and farm efficiency.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Farm Manager in day to day operations and decision making
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff
  • Operate and maintain modern machinery (e.g., mixer wagons, side by sides, front-end loader tractors, JCB loaders)
  • Oversee beef cattle breeding programs and the rearing of calves
  • Feed livestock and monitor animal health and welfare
  • Develop and implement beef cattle feeding plans and identify beef cattle health and nutrition problems
  • Practice and promote low-stress stock handling techniques
  • Repair and maintain fencing and water systems
  • Establish and maintain pastures and fodder crops for beef cattle production and identify plant health and nutrition problems
  • Maintain and improve farm infrastructure
  • Implement biosecurity management measures
  • Manage pasture health and rotational grazing practices
  • Ensure adherence to workplace safety and animal welfare standards

Skills & Experiences

  • Proven experience working with beef cattle across various production stages
  • Working knowledge of sheep management (excluding breeding)
  • Competency in operating and maintaining modern farm machinery
  • Strong understanding of animal welfare and low-stress stock handling
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Prior experience in infrastructure maintenance and pasture management
  • Current driver’s license (machinery tickets or certifications a bonus)
