Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, InterContinental Hotel Brisbane will open to guests this winter, offering 321 spacious hotel rooms and suites, all day dining restaurant and lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness centre and Club Lounge, all in a prime location above Queen Street Mall, perfect for exploring the city’s top attractions. With over 1800 square metres of meeting and events spaces, InterContinental Brisbane offers versatile function rooms and a Grand Ballroom catering for up to 1000 guests, making it a great choice for business and leisure events alike.
The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As a Luggage Porter/Door Person, your main duties and responsibilities will be providing guests with assistance in entering our Hotel, greeting them as they come and welcoming them with a friendly approach! You will support Concierge in moving luggage to rooms, communicating with the wider Front Office team in order to coordinate your approach.

A little taste of your day-to-day
- Greeting guests upon arrival and departure with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Assisting with luggage, including unloading/loading vehicles and transporting bags to and from guest rooms.
- Providing directions within the hotel and guidance to local attractions or transportation options.
- Maintaining a clean and presentable lobby area and entrance.
- Assisting in organizing or directing guest traffic, especially during busy check-in/out times or events.
- Opening doors and providing a welcoming experience at the entrance.
- Escorting guests to their rooms and providing a brief orientation of room features and hotel facilities.
- Handling special requests, such as delivering amenities, extra towels, or cots.
- Coordinating with the front desk, concierge, valet, and housekeeping teams.
- Monitoring the lobby and entrance for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
- Prior experience working as a Luggage Porter, Door Person, Receptionist, Concierge or Guest Services Agent at a luxury hotel is beneficial
- An organised approach, ability to handle large amounts of information at once and deal with various requests simultaneously
- Passion for providing luxury experiences, not shy to go above and beyond to personalise our Guests stay and provide your local wisdom to enhance their experience
- Ongoing availability to work flexibly as rostered, including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Full working rights in Australia without restrictions
- Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene
- Physical fitness as you’ll be on your feet most of the day. Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull objects, such as tables, up to 23 kg – we have the equipment to support you and keep you safe
