Cloud Product Owner
NGM Group

- Own & evolve the Azure cloud strategy across a critical technology portfolio
- Shape modern cloud platforms that support millions of customer interactions
- Newcastle-based | Hybrid WFH 2–3 days | Senior role
About the role
The Cloud Product Owner is a senior technology role responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s Azure cloud strategy. This role ensures the reliability, scalability and performance of cloud-based platforms that support both operational and customer-facing services.
You will lead the design, delivery and governance of cloud infrastructure, collaborating across business and technology
teams to accelerate application migration and modernise the cloud environment. Acting as a cloud evangelist, you’ll drive adoption of best practices, set technical standards, and build engineering capability across the organisation.
With strong Azure expertise and experience leading diverse stakeholder groups, including regulators such as APRA, you will play a key role in delivering secure, high-performing cloud solutions aligned to business and regulatory needs.
You’ll thrive here if you’re equal parts strategic and pragmatic — someone who can look at a roadmap and see not just what’s next, but what it will take to get there.
What we’re looking for
- Deep expertise in Azure cloud architecture, delivery, and platform modernisation
- Proven ability to bridge architecture and delivery — translating vision into structured, actionable work
- Experience leading cloud adoption at scale, including legacy migration and infrastructure uplift
- Strong understanding of cloud-native tools and practices (e.g. CI/CD, DevOps, containerisation, AKS)
- Confident stakeholder management skills — you’ll work across architecture, engineering, delivery, C-Suite and senior leadership
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g. financial services), with awareness of compliance and security requirements
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) highly regarded
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery and governance of a secure, scalable Azure cloud environment
- Act as the critical connector between architectural intent and operational reality — ensuring cloud strategy is deliverable and adopted
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, delivery teams and business leaders to turn strategy into scalable, reliable solutions
- Drive migration and modernisation initiatives across key business platforms
- Own and govern cloud adoption roadmaps, technical standards, and best practices
- Champion observability, automation, and cloud-native capability uplift across teams
- Evaluate new technologies, pilot innovation, and manage cloud-related budget and risk
- Provide clear communication to stakeholders at all levels, including regulatory bodies (e.g. APRA)
